Composed by: Christina Tourin
This was composed at a poignant time in my life. We cherish the joyful times as inevitably most all people face some kind of troubled times. Little Dove was written on Christmas Eve while sitting back and admiring the lights on the tree with a Little Dove on the treetop. The song reflects the emotions of the evening. It has been a powerful song for many including myself. And on a side note, it was my Mother’s favourite composition of mine.
The words to the song are as follows:
|Little Dove, what do you see?|
Flying o’re our Christmas tree?
In our home, do you see joy?
For the love for one another?Do you see the joy and pain?
Hugs and kisses, sun and rain?
Tears we shed to understand,
Life’s deep mysteries unending? Then fly above and spread the word
that we are given what we need
just dip and soar and know, my Dove,
that we keep learning more,
|About our selves,|
and those we love,
about our friends and family,
so bless this Christmas with your Peace,
and carry where you go,That Hope and Love live in our hearts,
the same words of long ago,
born to us on Christmas Day,
A Light to guide us on our way.To show us how to be the Light,
in all we do and think and say,
on this quiet Christmas night,
Let my Light shine forth, I pray.
